I am a Christian, raised an old school Baptist by my grandparents. My Grandfather was a Baptist Founder & Pastor of his own church. I spent 5 days a week at that church and all day on Sunday, from Sunday School until the last service at 9 or 10 pm later that night. I've read the Bible all my life, and can offer up a prayer with the best of 'em. Here lately I am not feeling my faith so much. The reason for this second thinking about my faith is simple, RepubliCANTS/teabaggers wish to use the Christian faith to further their racist agenda and to convince their followers that God is on their side. The God I serve, and believe in, is definitely NOT on their side.
Christ walked this Earth in the form of a Man, who was compassionate, loving, merciful,
forgiving, understanding, all knowing and wise. According to the books of the Bible, he healed the sick, raised the dead, performed miracles and was a savior to his followers. These RepubliCANT/teabagger "Christians", who supposedly follow Christ, are none of these things that describe the Christ I follow. Religion is not a whipping post, nor is Christianity a tool to force your political beliefs onto unsuspecting fools.
Now RepubliCANTS/teabaggers will preach separation of church & state till those cows come home, but they do not mean a word of that rhetoric unless it benefits their agenda.
Not all/every Christian is as evil, underhanded, deceitful, nasty, unkind & uncaring as these RepubliCANT/teabagger "Christians". Christ was never racist, hateful, judgmental, evil, or unkind to a soul, Christ never turned his back on anyone, denied anyone access to himself. Christ was a doer of good deeds, a Man who walked the lands healing, preaching peace and love....Christ was the first hippie. Christ was the first progressive liberal. Christ was the first supporter of "ObamaCare". Christ was the exact opposite of what a RepubliCANT/teabagger stands for today.
I leave you with this question....ask yourself this when you are dealing with the racist, unloving, uncaring, uninformed, selfish RepubliCANT/teabagger.......
What Would Jesus DO?
Religion is NOT a tool for politics....not now and not ever.
