You probably already know were I'm going with this one. So I'll get right to it.
Why do Americans/New Yorkers, think an Islamic Center/Mosque close to "Ground Zero", sends any kind of message at all to Muslims thousands of miles away? I would guarantee that no intelligent thinker who is heading this effort, would want any tribute in America, or anywhere else for that matter, to the terrorist who killed thousands in the 9/11 bombings.
This Center/Mosque is for AMERICAN Muslims, those people who are persecuted daily for their religious beliefs. If I am not mistaken, in America, we the people, are to be free from all types of oppression and religious persecution.
This Islamic Center/Mosque is for the American population who choose to exercise their rightful freedom to choose their religion without repercussion, and to worship that religious choice. Would Americans/New Yorkers object to a Jewish Synagogue, or A Baptist Church, or a Catholic Cathedral, if it were suggested those religious places of worship be built in this same space?
Could it be that this Islamic Center/Mosque is for "those rag head niggers from over there" and "we Americans don't need no heathen cult religion practiced in New York".
Yes, that is exactly what stupid Americans/New Yorkers are thinking. They are thinking their Christianity or Jewish or Catholic, or Lutheran, or Baptist religions are the only religions that should be practiced in America. They believe that if you are a Muslim in America, you are a terrorist or a terrorist sympathizer.
Could Americans/New Yorkers be any more wrong?
The whole world is watching.
