Islamophobia: Islamophobia is prejudice against Islam or Muslims. The term seems to date back to the "late" 1980s, but came into common usage after the September 11, 2001 attacks in the United States. In 1997, the British Runnymede Trust defined Islamophobia as the "dread or hatred of Islam and therefore, to the fear and dislike of all Muslims," stating that it also refers to the practice of discriminating against Muslims by excluding them from the economic, social, and public life of the nation. It includes the perception that Islam has no values in common with other cultures, is inferior to the West and is a violent political ideology rather than a religion.
Prejudice against Islam or Muslims.
There is NO Ground Zero Mosque. Cordoba House, the proposed site for the Islamic Cultural Center, which will contain a Mosque inside, is blocks away from Ground Zero.
That said, and using my God given common sense, I can come to the conclusion that this entire issue of a Mosque being built on "Sacred Ground" is a myth.
Situated between, in, and around the area of this so called "Hallowed Sacred Ground Zero" are business establishments that symbolize America's love for sin and decadence. Many Bars, a very prominent "Gentleman's Club" (Strip Joint), adult bookstores disguised as Novelty Stores, and so on. BUT, an Islamic Cultural Center is NOT wanted in this very Solemn and Sacred location.
Islamophobia is nothing more than another form of racism. Racism is nothing that can't be erased. It can be eradicated with education. Teach our children that because something is different, it need not be hated or misunderstood. Teach our children that this planet is shared by billions of humans, and as many if not more animals. It is impossible to understand each and every living thing.....so we must never hate that which we do NOT understand.
Instead, Let's educate ourselves about those things that are different from "Us". Let's learn about the things "outside our comfort zone".
Fear Of A Black Planet is a real issue for racist caucasians. But it is not something "they" need to fear. A Black Planet does not include enslaving people to do our dirty work,...or killing of an entire nation of those we found already living on land we "discovered". A Black planet does not mean discrimination, or killing Eco-Systems that we need to survive, just to make more profits for big oil corporations. A Black Planet does not include religions persecution or hatred of being different.
Maybe a Black Planet is not such a bad idea??
