The Importance OF This "NO"vember. We Ain't Going "Back!!"

This "NO"vember, will be the most important election cycle in our recent history. Why, you ask? RepubliCANTS/teabaggers want badly to win the majority in both houses so they can "take America back". The question is....do we as a Nation, who have progressed so far, want to be "taken back?" I can remember watching the Chicago riots during the 1968 Democratic Convention. I remember seeing the Chicago "pigs' beating protesters with their "billy clubs" dressed in riot gear, shoving and dragging handcuffed Americans into "paddy-wagons". That night mirrored the civil rights struggle of the 6o's in that the protesters were bombarded by law enforcement, and not given much of a chance to be peaceful. Then the Democrats were the enemy because Mayor Richard J. Daley made them so.

In "NO"vember, if the RepubliCANTS/teabaggers win the majority of seats in either house of legislation, we Americans are going "back" to those days. Every piece of important major legislation passed and signed into law will be repealed if "they" are the majority. That means Health care Reform, Wall Street Reform, Student Loan Reform, all legislation that was passed and signed into law to help US Americans. Are we as a Nation even interested in going backwards? NO.

The RepubliCANTS/teabaggers have boasted of their plans to overturn every piece of major legislation of importance POTUS Obama has accomplished, they promise to take control of government and do things they way they want them done. How about the 69 million voters who gave POTUS Obama carte blanch to implement his agenda for changing this country from the mess George "Dubbya" Bush left America saddled with....into a vital, strong, proud America it should be??

Stand up in "NO"vember
Say "NO" to Wall Street spending OUR money.
Say "NO" to racist Governors/racist laws.
Say "NO" to repealing Health Care Reform FOR ALL AMERICANS
Say "NO" to big oil killing our land.
Say "NO" to racism and undercover white supremacists groups.
Say "NO" to unemployment benefits denied.
Say "NO" to rewriting history into "TheirStory".
Say "NO" to the RepubliCANTS/teabaggers.
Vote Democratic In "NO"vember.

Obama's Trickle Down

Something I had posted to the FB wall of a group i started a few weeks ago from a lovely woman Named Ms. Carol Filby.....read and see if you have a similar story to tell....

Carol Filby:
Obama's plans made a huge impact on my life, yesterday, by implementing the HAMP program. Bush initiated it shortly before leaving office, knowing he would not have to deal with administrating it. It was not broad enough to trickle down to people like me, who make less than $9/hr. I was on the verge of losing my home. Obama refused to implement it until 2 or 3 changes were made, so the funds involved would help people who, through no fault of their own, were in danger of losing their homes. It was not meant to help those who had greedily bought a home way beyond their means, had 3 or 4 cars, credit debt in six figures, yet the banks didn't find "them" a "high risk". So, I applied for a forbearance 5/29/10. It was touch & go for awhile. Yesterday they called me to tell me I had been approved, based on my qualifying for Social Security this Dec. They gave me a 6-mo forbearance, to 1/1/11. All fees & interest will be stopped, no payment need be made until 1/2/11, and they will modify the previous late & interest by perhaps as much as 50%. The new mortgage will be written 1/2/11, at a modifed rate of 2-3.5%. God love him! If nothing else he does helps me so directly - I'll be forever grateful. He's got my support. He was "great" on the View. Glad I was able to be home and see it. He was talking right to me, and you, and all the "working" people who contribute a large percentage of their income (sometimes every cent of it - and none to spare, and still can't buy a new pair of shoes). People who know what it feels like to worry from month-to-month how they're going to pay the car insurance, to keep looking for a job that everyone thinks you're too "old" to do! He'll always have my vote! Sorry I can't say the same for NC's Dem. Governor. Can't vote for her again.

This is the one thing RepubliCANTS can not discredit....real people with real life stories that they live everyday. This POTUS is helping the everyday, average, "like you and the guy next door" American. Keep this story, and all your untold stories. in your mind in "NO"vember.
Remember In "NO"vember.....
Vote Democratic.

Off Subject, The Diabetes War.

I have diabetes, I was diagnosed two years ago in July of 2008. After ten days in the University of Iowa Hospital I had the big toe, on my left foot, saved from amputation by having a pic line in my chest to administer antibiotics while at home. Now two years later, and after being hard headed and NOT following all the doctor's advice and instruction, I had the tip of my great toe, on my right foot, removed last month. Sometimes the best lessons in life are learned the hard way. But it does not have to be that way.
I have to admit, I had not the best advice or information given to me from the start of this war. I always considered myself very intelligent, but it seems in matters of health concerning diabetes, I was the dumbest patient on this planet. I ignored the diagnosis, ignored the advice of my family doctor, even though she was not as knowledgeable as I would have liked. She is not an expert in diabetes and it was not until this week, when i attended a Diabetes Education Class, that I finally got the full scope of what this disease is all about. It is a full out daily war to survive.
This Diabetes Education Class is a wonderful tool, and very necessary for winning this war. If you have diabetes and have NOT taken this class, please sign up immediately. What you find online is incomplete, and supported by advertisers pushing their medical products. The Diabetes Education Class is marketing nothing but good health. In closing, I offer advise that I chose to ignore.....
1). Test your blood sugar at least 3 times a day, or as often as needed.
2). Take all your medication as scheduled, never skip, never be too busy.
3). Eat correctly, count your carbs/starches. See a Diabetic Dietitian.
4(. Understand the disease, research it, learn it's effects on ALL your organs.

As with any war, you fight small battles to ultimately win the war. The small battles with diabetes is controlling your blood sugar everyday.
I hope this helped some of you who are as hard headed as I WAS. I know some are reading this right now saying..." It will go away on it's own",....or thinking...." if I ignore this, I can beat diabetes by just changing what I eat, or losing some weight, or exercising ."
You CAN NOT.
Treat the disease, educate yourself, and WIN this war.

Being On The Right Side.....

There is something so great about feeling you were correct all along, read the following....

PHOENIX — A federal judge on Wednesday blocked the most controversial parts of Arizona's immigration law from taking effect, delivering a last-minute victory to opponents of the crackdown.

The overall law will still take effect Thursday, but without the provisions that angered opponents – including sections that required officers to check a person's immigration status while enforcing other laws.

The judge also put on hold parts of the law that required immigrants to carry their papers at all times, and made it illegal for undocumented workers to solicit employment in public places. In addition, the judge blocked officers from making warrantless arrests of suspected illegal immigrants.

"Requiring Arizona law enforcement officials and agencies to determine the immigration status of every person who is arrested burdens lawfully-present aliens because their liberty will be restricted while their status is checked," U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton ruled.

She ruled that the controversial sections should be put on hold until the courts resolve the issues. Other provisions of the law, many of them procedural and slight revisions to existing Arizona immigration statute, will go into effect at 12:01 a.m.

The ruling came just as police were making last-minute preparations to begin enforcement of the law and protesters were planning large demonstrations to speak out against the measure. At least one group planned to block access to federal offices, daring officers to ask them about their immigration status.

The volume of the protests will likely be turned down a few notches because of the ruling by Bolton, a Clinton appointee who suddenly became a crucial figure in the immigration debate when she was assigned the seven lawsuits filed against the Arizona law.

Lawyers for the state contend the law was a constitutionally sound attempt by Arizona – the busiest illegal gateway into the country – to assist federal immigration agents and lessen border woes such as the heavy costs for educating, jailing and providing health care for illegal immigrants.

Opponents argued the law will lead to racial profiling, conflict with federal immigration law and distract local police from fighting more serious crimes. The U.S. Justice Department, civil rights groups and a Phoenix police officer had asked the judge for an injunction to prevent the law from being enforced.

Now ask yourself....don't it feel soooo good to be right and on the right side? Wonder what Governor Brewer will do now to be a racist?

More Filibustering

Today, July 27 2010, Republicans in the Senate filibustered and blocked legislation called "The Disclose Act". The DISCLOSE Act legislation would address seven major points:

1. Enhance Disclaimers; Make CEOs and other leaders take responsibility for their ads.

2. Enhance Disclosures; It is time to follow the money.
3. Prevent Foreign Influence; Foreign countries and entities should not be determining the outcome of our elections.

4. Shareholder/Member Disclosure; We should allow shareholders and members to know where money goes.

5. Prevent Government Contractors from Spending; Taxpayer money should not be spent on political ads.

6. Provide the Lowest Unit Rate for Candidates and Parties; Special interests should not drown out the voices of the people.

7. Tighten Coordination Rules; Corporations should not be able to “sponsor” a candidate.
(from http://salsa.wiredforchange.com/o/5660/p/dia/action/public/?action_KEY=1714&tag=disclose_www )

Basically it would hold corporations accountable for their political ads and make them reveal that they are the ones sponsoring the political ads, but the Republicans filibustered it and blocked it from passing. They want corporations to be able to spend limitlessly on elections without having to reveal themselves.

We The People NEED this Disclosure Act....so why are RepubliCANTS blocking it and obstructing a working government? Why??? The usual reason a RepubliCANT does anything....money.

Common Sense Says....

Common Sense Says......
How on earth can U hate a man who accomplishes things for U that benefit U?
Have U ever applied for health insurance only to be told to list all "pre-existing
conditions" and then have those "pre-existing conditions" disallowed?
Or are UNemployed and have no health care at all?
Or work everyday but can't afford health care to be deducted from your already
small paycheck? Then the Health Care Reform Law is helping U.
Common Sense Says.......
Have U or someone in your family or friends taken out
student loans to pay for college? The average dollar amount for 4 years college
expense is right at $100K. That is a lot to have hanging over your head as you
start your life post college. Then The Student Loan Reform Act is helping U.
Common Sense Says.......
Think The Wall Street Reform Law is not your concern..
here is a link to convince U that U are so very wrong,....
Unless U are a Wall Street Banker or own a Wall Street Investment House, U will
benefit from Wall Street Reform.
Common Sense Says.......
Every last one of the "Reform" Legislation introduced and signed into law
by this POTUS is going to help those who need help the most.....common, everyday
hard working, average Americans like U. And Me. Funny thing is, or confusing thing
those exact folks who need the reform laws, who these reforms will help the most, are
the ones fighting them, and the man responsible for them.

From The Desk Of The President Of The United States

President Barack Obama,

When you and I set out on this journey three years ago, we knew that ours would be a lengthy struggle to build a new foundation for this country -- one that would require squaring off against the special interests who had spent decades stacking the deck in their favor.

Today, it is clear that you have shifted the odds.

This morning, I signed into law a bill that represents the most sweeping reforms of Wall Street since the Great Depression, and the toughest consumer financial protections this nation has ever seen. I know that I am able to do so only because the tens of thousands of volunteers who make up the backbone of this movement overcame the most potent attack ads and the most powerful lobbying the special interests could put forward.

Our special-interest opponents and their Republican allies have now set their sights on the elections in November as their best chance to overturn the historic progress we've made together.

Organizing for America counts entirely on supporters like you to fight back -- no special interests, no corporate PACs. To keep making change and to defend the change we have already won, we need you -- and at least 2 other people in Monument -- to contribute so we have the resources necessary going into the election.

Please donate $5 today and help Organizing for America lay the groundwork for the fights ahead.

Because of Wall Street reform, we will ensure that Americans applying for a credit card, a mortgage, or a student loan will never again be asked to sign their name under pages of confusing fine print. We will crack down on abusive lending practices and make sure that lenders don't cheat the system -- and create a new watchdog to enforce these consumer protections.

And we will put an end to taxpayer-funded bailouts, giving us the ability to wind down any large financial institution if it should ever fail.

The passage of Wall Street reform is at the forefront of the change we seek, and it will provide a foundation for a stronger and safer economy.

It is a foundation built upon the progress of the Recovery Act, which has turned 22 months of job losses into six consecutive months of private-sector job growth. And it is a foundation reinforced by the historic health reform we passed this spring, which is already giving new benefits to more than 100 million Americans, ushering another 1 million Americans into coverage by next year.

But today's victory is not where our fight ends.

Organizing for America and I will move forward in the months ahead on the tough fights we have yet to finish -- even if cynics say we should wait until after the fall elections. This movement has never catered to the conventional wisdom of Washington. And we have fought to ensure that our progress is never held hostage by our politics.

You and I did not build this movement to win one election. We did not come together to pass one single piece of legislation. We are fighting for nothing less than a new foundation for our country -- and that work is not complete. As we face the challenges ahead, I am relying on you to stand with me.

President Barack Obama

I'm Confused

I am really confused by the number of Americans who do not want a reformed health care system in America, one that does not disallow a pre-existing condition, when you need health care FOR that very pre-existing condition in the first place. Or those who want Wall Street Reform which allows Wall Street to take our savings, without any repercussions or legal ramifications. Or the number Of Americans who don't Student Loan Reform, or care about student loans costing our college students their entire lives to repay, making them start out a life and future in a financial hole. Or the RepubliCANTS/teabaggers who love to point at this POTUS and name call, disrespect or down right slander with lies and misinformation.
During 8 years of Dubbya/Cheney being liars to the American people, stealing horrific amounts of ca$h for themselves and funneling even more to friends/colleagues/cronies, was there ever a time Americans who didn't want Dubbya in the White House because he stole the election ....did we ever resort to the tactics we see used by the RepubliCANTS/teabaggers today?
I am waiting ,patiently, for one RepubliCANT/teabagger to intelligently explain their reasoning why health care for ALL Americans, not just those who can afford to be sick or in the hospital, BUT ALL AMERICANS,...is a bad thing?
Just one of "them" please tell me why they want a student just finishing college has to start out his/her life thousands of dollars in the hole? Pressured to pay back that huge student loan right now? U want that situation for your children?
Why do "they" want a big, wealthy, elitist, Wall Street banker to squander our hard earned money on a gamble, and walk away with a bonus from his firm?
Why do "they" want text books to be re-written to exclude our history? Make it "Theirstory" and not a real true "History".
Explain to me why people of color are being discriminated against in Arizona because of their skin color, profiled as illegal immigrants and asked to "show papers" when the just expelled Russian spies, and the 9/11 terrorists suicide bombers didn't enter this country from the south but the North/East? Why not have immigration legislation that targets ALL illegal immigrants, of ALL colors/races?
Racism is the answer to all these questions. One word.....Racism.
